There is nothing like getting to see the world on the company’s expense. However, without properly planning your business trip, you can be easily stressed when you realize you should have had a car pick you up from the airport instead of driving through a city you have never been in. Here are some basic business travel tips to keep the trip pleasant.
First, when you are getting ready for your business trip, make sure you double-check all of your reservations and meeting times. There is nothing more embarrassing then showing up at a restaurant and not being able to get a table because you did not call ahead.
Second, make sure you have everything you need for the trip before you leave. Make sure you have your laptop and any documents for the client. It would be wise to back-up the information and have it with a trusted colleague in case something happens to your computer while on a trip.
Third, consider dress the part before you even get on the plane. Taking the time to put on the suit or dress suit for the business meeting before you leave for the airport will keep inconveniences such as losing your luggage. Instead of packing the suit, put a winkle remover in your bag to help get any of the creases sitting in an airplane seat may cause.
Fourth, when packing for trips determine if you need to bring all of your custom-made luggage. Instead, you may be able to roll some of your clothing and save time and money when you have to check your luggage. Also, call ahead to your hotel to see what complimentary toiletries are provided. This will help you reduce the amount of luggage you need to bring.
Five, remember to check for any changes in what you can include in your carry-ons to reduce the amount of time in airport security. Check your pocket and bags beforehand.
